ACCR is supported primarily through grants and donations from those who are moved by our cause and want to help us make a difference. It is the contributions of people like you that enable us to change the trajectory of the legal decisions that impact our client’s lives. We ask that join us as a proponent of reform, and donate today to ACCR.
You Know that death penalty work is teamwork.

From 2000 to 2010, the United States of America put 578 people to death by lethal injection and 12 by electrocution. Of the total 590, 259 were non-white and 174 were under the age of 35 years old. There are serious questions about whether any of them were effectively represented at trial, particularly in light of the scarce resources most often provided.
ACCR is founded on the belief that addressing the need to abolish capital punishment will enable us to move forward on a path to dismantling all other fundamental injustices within our criminal legal system. As we strive toward this goal, we recognize the importance of understanding the historical inequities that created the plague of violence that is still perpetuated today against the bodies of the criminalized.
Since 2010, there have been another 329 executions in our nation. In Pennsylvania, all three of the men who have been executed in the modern era were mentally disabled prisoners who were nonetheless permitted to give up their appeals and “volunteer” to be executed. Executions, including electrocution, have continued in 2020.
We are proud to both participate in and drive the efforts to bring down these numbers by creating new ways to support the defense teams that fight tirelessly for life in the courtroom.
