2017 Gala

We thank our supporters for a fabulous night!

ACCR hosts Bryan Stevenson; honors Nicole Brambila and Ricky Olds

On September 15th, 2017, ACCR threw its 3rd fundraising gala.  The featured guest was friend and ally Bryan Stevenson, Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative and best-selling author. At the funder we highlighted the fantastic work of our colleague Nicole C Brambila, an award-winning investigative journalist with 15 years of experience at newspapers in Texas, California and Pennsylvania, who has done extraordinary coverage of PA's problematic capital punishment system.  To top it all off, we celebrated Ricky Olds, a client of ACCR’s, who was recently released from prison after serving 37 years for a crime he did not commit.  Stevenson gave riveting remarks to our 275 guests (our largest funder crowd to date!) about the necessity to remain vigilant in support of ACCR as the organization continues to make strides for a better criminal justice system.  ACCR debuted a short documentary we produced about Ricky’s case as it is emblematic of a broken, faltering criminal justice system in Pennsylvania.  The short film is now on our website.  The fundraiser was our most successful to date.

ACCR is grateful for the 275 colleagues, friends and supporters joined us for a great night with our friend and ally, Bryan Stevenson of the Equal Justice Initiative.  The proceeds from our fundraiser went directly toward supporting our programs. The more financial help we receive, the more capital and juvenile life without parole cases we can work on.

It was truly a special night!
